Time to Renew Golf Cart/Neighborhood Vehicle Stickers

REMINDER:
 
All golf cart and neighborhood vehicles within the City of Auburn that seek to renew their annual permit must do so on or before April 30th.  Permits are granted for a period of one year and will be renewed annually, for the period of May 1st to April 30th.  The cost to renew is 75.00.
 
The vehicle must be brought to the city office and inspected by a representative of the police department.  If a police officer is not available at the police station, individuals may use the designated phone in the police department to call 217-753-6666 and request an officer to return to the station.
 
The applicant applying for the permit must provide evidence of insurance in compliance with the provisions of the Illinois statutes regarding minimum liability insurance for passenger motor vehicles to the operated on the roads of the State of Illinois.

A boil order is in effect for the following areas:

4th Street from Jackson to Washington 

5th Street from Jackson to Washington 

Adams Street from 8th to Mill Street 

Jefferson from 6th going east to railroad tracks 

Madison from 5th street going east to railroad tracks

Monroe from 5th street going east to railroad tracks.

Boil Order in Effect on Jackson from 2nd Street to Springfield Street

The city is aware of a water main break affecting the following areas:
 
On Jackson Street between Springfield and Second Street
 
The water to the main will soon be shut off to repair the break.  When the water is restored, customers impacted in this area will be under a boil order until further notice.

Weather Parking Order if Effect

Inclement Weather Vehicle Parking Order in Effect
 
The City of Auburn Street Superintendent has issued an inclement weather parking order beginning at 6 pm, Friday, January 18th through 6 pm, Saturday, January 19th.
 
During the time of the order no vehicles, including but not limited to cars, trucks, boats, any and all trailers, or equipment may be parked on the city right-of-way.
 
The city right of way shall include both paved and unpaved areas of the right-of-way including the shoulder.
 
Additional messages will be posted to this Facebook page as well as through the city all call system.

Water Break – Urgent Notice to Residents

There has been an Otter Lake Water Commission water break that is impacting the City of Auburn.
 
All residents north of the Auburn Township Garage (located at 14759 Kennedy Road) are asked to conserve water as much as possible as crews work to repair the break.
 
The break was on the master meter that supplies water to the City.  There is no boil order at this time and residents will be notified via Facebook and our all call system when a boil order may be in place.
