Notice of Public Hearing

The City of Auburn will hold a public hearing to discuss its intentions to complete water system improvements and to provide the public with the opportunity to present comments. The project consists of:

  • Replacement of existing water mains, valves, hydrants, and appurtenances
  • Back-up connection to the Otter Lake Water Commission
  • New water and gas meter reading system
  • Control system upgrades

Information related to the proposed water improvements consisting of a Water System Facility Plan prepared by Benton & Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, and the Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination prepared by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) are available for review in the City Clerk’s office at City Hall. There will be a 10-day comment period subsequent to the public hearing to receive comments from interested and affected parties.  Comments may be submitted to the City Clerk’s office or the IEPA.  This public hearing is part of the requirements in which the City must comply with in order to qualify for a low interest loan from IEPA Public Water Supply Loan Program.
