2014 Water Quality Report

The Annual Water Quality Report for the period of January 1 to December 31, 2014 is now available. This report is intended to provide you with important information about your drinking water and the efforts made by the water system to provide safe drinking water. The source of drinking water used by Auburn is purchased surface water from Otter Lake Water Commission.

04/08/2015 Boil Order

The Auburn City Utility Department will be g a fire hydrant on Wednesday, April 8, 2015; Effected areas will be:

11th St between Washington and Maple
10th St between Adams and Maple
Maple St between 11th and 9th
Washington St between 11th and 9th

Water will be turned off for Approximately 4 hours beginning at 9 AM. A boil order will be in effect for this area once pressure is restored. The water test results may take 2 to 3 days to receive.

A boil order means that residents in the affected area are advised to boil their water for three (3) to five (5) minutes prior to drinking or cooking with it. This is a precautionary measure for residents’ protection.

Auburn City Office is Seeking to Update Utility Accounts

Snow Emergency Declared

The Auburn Street Superintendent is declaring a weather parking order due to a predicted snow event. All vehicles and equipment must be removed from the city streets and right-of-ways, both paved and unpaved, including the shoulder from 9:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2014 through 9:00 A.M. Enroll to Receive Utility Bill Online

The City of Auburn now offers the opportunity for city utility customers to receive their utility bills online instead of through regular mail. By enrolling in the program, residents waive their right to receive a utility bill through the mail. The form must be completed, signed, and returned to the city utility office in order to be fully enrolled. All questions can be directed to the city utility office at 217-438-6151 or via e-mail at cityoffice@auburnillinois.us

Auburn Police Department Accepting Applications for FT Officer

The Auburn Police Department is accepting applications to establish a pool of qualified applicants for the position of Full Time Police Officer. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma, display communication, computer, and problem solving skills. Applicants must submit to a background check including finger prints and drug screening. In the event The Auburn Police Department does hire and you are selected you will be required by the State of Illinois to meet set physical requirements for entry into the required police officers basic training. Applications may be picked up at the Auburn Police Department or downloaded at www.auburnillinois.us/police-department/ and must be returned by December 22nd at 8:00am.
