Lottery to be held for Ward II Alderman position on the ballot

On Monday, December 12, 2016 (2) candidates presented petitions for the position of Ward II alderman at the same time.

A lottery will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 12:00 pm (noon) at the city office located at 324 West Jefferson Street, Auburn, IL 62615.

This lottery will establish the order the names will appear on the ballot in the upcoming election.

The public is invited to attend.

Town Hall Meeting – 10/25/16

What: Town Hall Meeting

When: October 25, 2016 beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Auburn Community Center

The town hall meeting will be held to answer questions and concerns pertaining to the City of Auburn wishing to become a home rule unit.  The issue is being raised to voters on the November ballot and the city council will be available to discuss what home rule is and what potential options are should the city become a home rule unit.

Police Officer –

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma.  The successful applicant will pass a background check including drug screening and a physician’s physical.  Applicant must demonstrate good communication, ability to multi-task, and have good problem solving skills.  Computer knowledge is a plus.

Part Time Dispatch –

Applicant must display computer, phone and communication skills.  Applicant must be able to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.  The successful applicant must be available to work a variety of shifts including, holidays, and must pass a background check including a drug screening.
