The City of Auburn will be accepting bids for removing old city garages as well as the
construction of a new city garage. Bids will be accepted until August 31, 2016 at 12:00 (noon)
Specs will be available at the City Office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to
4:00 p.m. All bids will be reviewed at the city council meeting on Tuesday, September 6, 2016
beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Due to a water main break the following areas are under a boil order until further notice:
-Jackson St from Springfield St to Dixon Road; Including all of Clover Ln
-8th St from Jackson St to North St
-Jackson from 8th St to 7th St
-Monroe St from 8th St to 7th St
-Madison St from 8th St to 7th St
-Jefferson St from 8th St to 7th St
-Adams St from 8th St to 7th St
-Washington St from 8th St to 7th St
-North St from 8th St to 7th St
A boil order means that residents in the affected area are advised to boil their water for three (3) to five (5) minutes prior to drinking or cooking with it. This is a precautionary measure for residents’ protection.
The City of Auburn will be flushing hydrants during the month of April. The east side of town will be done the week of April 4th and the west side of town will be done the week of April 11th. Residents may notice some lower water pressure and discolored water during this time. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the city office at 217-438-6151.
The Annual Water Quality Report for the period of January 1 to December 31, 2014 is now available. This report is intended to provide you with important information about your drinking water and the efforts made by the water system to provide safe drinking water. The source of drinking water used by Auburn is purchased surface water from Otter Lake Water Commission.

The City of Auburn Gas Department will be doing upgrades to the gas system along Jackson Street (Route 104), ahead of an anticipated resurfacing of the road by IDOT. These upgrades are scheduled to begin in early April and may extend in to the summer months. Some of the excavation work will be required to remain open for an extended period of time. Please be assured we will make every effort to minimize the impact to our customers while this project occurs. The Auburn Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying a suspicious vehicle that may be linked to suspected copper thefts in the area. Below is security camera video of the vehicle in question.
