All golf cart and neighborhood vehicles within the City of Auburn that seek to renew their annual permit must do so on or before April 30th. Permits are granted for a period of one year and will be renewed annually, for the period of May 1st to April 30th. The cost to renew is 75.00.
The vehicle must be brought to the city office and inspected by a representative of the police department. If a police officer is not available at the police station, individuals may use the designated phone in the police department to call 217-753-6666 and request an officer to return to the station.
The applicant applying for the permit must provide evidence of insurance in compliance with the provisions of the Illinois statutes regarding minimum liability insurance for passenger motor vehicles to the operated on the roads of the State of Illinois.
