The Auburn Historical Society was formed to collect past stories and pictures with the resulting booklet entitled "History of Auburn." A letter from ’lyn Pignon, one of the contributing writers, mentions many of those who worked on this book, including Bertha Penn, Floyd Lorton, Orin Jenkins, Theodore Smith, Daisy Lochridge Lewis, and Johnanna Lanham.

The Auburn Public Library believes in knowledge, enjoyment, inspiration, and creativity. The staff live out this vision by providing a wide range of services to the community. Home-bound delivery is available to those who are unable to leave their home. Book Club meets once a month to discuss the group’s selected book. Chess Club and Pokémon Club are favorites among the teens. Storytime is eventful as children bring their lunches to eat while enjoying crafts and a story. The library is also a host to community donations such as glasses, fleece for blankets, supplies, box tops, and much more!
Books, DVDs, audio CDs, magazines, video games, and educational kits are available for checkout. If an item is not available, patrons can request items from other libraries through the inter-library loan
Four computers are available for use as well as free WiFi. Patrons can print, make copies, laminate, or fax documents for a small fee. Scanning documents is free.
The library also has a small community room that is free for public use. Patrons must call or visit the library to reserve the space. Reservations can be done up to three months in advance.

East Park Pavilion is available to rent in April (depending on weather) through October. Those who wish to rent the East Park Pavilion must visit the City Utility Office during normal business hours of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or complete an online rental agreement form and submit to the city office. A deposit of $50.00 must be made at the time of completing the application. A copy of the paid rental agreement will be e-mailed or mailed to those renting the facility as proof of reservation and payment. I need to make sure that I provide to you a copy of all of our updated forms as the ones on the site now have been changed

The Auburn Community Center is located at 118 N. Sth Street and is available to rent for special occasions, such as baby or bridal showers, family gatherings, birthday parties, and group meetings. Depending on setup, the Center can seat 75 and hold 100 individuals. Tables, chairs, and kitchen area (includes stove, microwave, and refrigerator) are available to use with the rental of the space
Those who wish to rent the community center can print the form out online or visit the City Utility Office during normal business hours (Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) A deposit must be made at the time of completing the application. If an application is completed and turned in after hours, the deposit must be included with the contract to fully reserve the date.
A copy of the paid contract will be e-mailed or mailed to the individual who completed the application for proof of payment and reservation.
Rental Rates
For Community Club Meetings — $5.00
For Residents (Auburn Utilities) — $75.00 ($25 refunded when cleaned & key returned)
For Non-Residents (non-Auburn Utilities) — $150.00 ($50 refunded when cleaned & key returned)
